The Lancashire Pound

Where the council pound lands

When a council spends with a supplier, some of that money stays and recirculates locally, and some of it leaves. This follows each council's published supplier payments and sorts them by how rooted the supplier is in Lancashire. The tiers are an Observatory assessment based on register facts; the underlying spend is the councils' own published data.

What the numbers are. These figures come from each council's published "payments over £500" transparency data. That is not a complete account of any council's budget: it excludes payments below the threshold, and lawfully redacted payments to individuals. Read the tiers as the direction of travel of supplier spend, not as a full budget.
Rooted local Registered office and trading premises in Lancashire, no controlling parent registered outside the county.
Trades here, owned away Trades from Lancashire premises but the controlling parent is registered elsewhere.
Non-local No registered office or trading premises identified in Lancashire.
Unclassified Not enough register evidence to place the supplier.
